Dialectical Behavior Therapy asserts that "change is the only constant." While the dialectical statement can sometimes be challenging and emotional to accept, it rings true. This year, Online DBT Skills has gone through some changes ourselves.
In July, we graduated our final cohort of students and closed our live DBT skills group that had been running for 5 years. We are so proud of every student that has learned DBT skills with us.
We have pivoted our focus to training mental health professionals to use DBT skills with their clients, although we still have a few offerings for students seeking DBT skills for their own lives. We trained over 60 professionals in basic DBT skills this summer through custom trainings created for several organizations. We will be providing more of these trainings.
Our self-paced DBT course has moved to Teachable and is available for purchase to both students and mental health professionals alike. It includes over 7 hours of content and all of the original Linehan DBT skills.
Alicia Paz, Counselor Registered Associate, our owner and founder, is opening her Private Practice. She offers DBT-focused short-term treatment for Oregon residents. If you're interested, sign up now.
Kat Schultz, MSW, our program manager and DBT peer educator will be offering DBT skills coaching moving forward as well. Coaching is not therapy, but support in using the DBT skills you already know and use.
Finally, something that hasn't changed: you can always view our YouTube videos and webinar recordings at any time to support your DBT skills practice.
We are growing and changing but still have plenty of ways for you to learn DBT skills with us, whether you are a student yourself or a mental health professional.
